Birth chart is the most common term for a natal chart, especially in modern Western astrology. The birth chart also reveals timing: when transiting planets activate sensitive points in your chart, the themes of those placements come alive. A common misconception is that two people with the same Sun sign have the same birth chart. In reality, even a few minutes' difference in birth time shifts the house cusps dramatically, and the Moon moves fast enough to change signs within a single day. This is why accurate birth data — date, exact time, and location — is essential for meaningful chart work. The birth chart remains relevant throughout your entire life, serving as the baseline against which all predictive techniques are measured.
